Support from Voices Unlocked

The Voices Unlocked project is currently seeking funding to continue its work. In the meantime, this website has been created to share some of the learnings and resources developed throughout the project.

Voices Unlocked works with detainees who hear voices, see visions, or have other unusual sensory experiences, prison officers, mental health advocates, in-reach team members, or other professionals working in the criminal justice system. We offer support in the following areas:

  • Support with establishing peer support groups for detainees

  • Specialist support training for staff responsible for the welfare of these detainees

  • Developing resources to support these detainees

  • Developing person-centred support for these detainees through 'lived experience' focus groups
